Doragon (ドラゴン) is the dragon — in Japanese symbolism a creature of strength and wisdom, guardian of water and storm. This katana carries the motif where it counts: a copper tsuba sculpted into the coiled form of a dragon, set against a blade whose folded grain ripples like a current. It is a mid-range sword that marries that symbolism to a genuinely capable cutter.

Forging & Steel

The 71 cm blade is forged from Damascus steel carrying a hamon. Folding the steel surfaces the characteristic swirling pattern — beauty and durability in the same operation — while the hamon marks the hardened edge against the softer, more flexible body. Those folded layers work strength and resilience into the blade together, so it bites on a cut without becoming brittle. The result is a sword that performs as a cutter and reads as art on the rack, a blade as comfortable on the training floor as it is on display.

Fittings

The dragon-carved copper tsuba is the showpiece, matched by copper menuki under the wrap. The lacquered-wood saya bears painted floral motifs that play against the metalwork, and the tsuka is bound over genuine white shagreen for grip and aesthetic cohesion across the whole mounting.

Is it battle-ready?

Yes. The folded Damascus blade is sharpened and functional, built for cutting practice as well as display, with a full tang running the length of the handle. Keep the steel wiped and lightly oiled to protect the grain and the edge between sessions. See the full katana collection, or compare with the folded-Damascus Katana Eien and Katana Tokugawa.
