Cada hoja se inspecciona, se engrasa y se embala con discreción — la caja nunca revela que dentro hay una espada.

Chinmoku — silence — and the sword speaks in stillness rather than noise. The square tsuba is unusual and deliberate, its gold detail beginning a story that runs the length of the mount and closes at the kashira. A two-tone black-and-white sageo lines the scabbard. Imposing yet elegant, it is a master piece that holds the room without raising its voice.

Forging & Steel

The grey blade is folded Damascus steel carrying a hamon, the wavy folded grain catching the light along its length. The repeated folding builds strength and flexibility into the steel while the differential temper raises a hard, keen edge. At 103 cm and 1.4 kg with the scabbard, it has presence in the hand and on the shelf. The grey of the folded steel is restrained on purpose, the wave figure surfacing only as the light moves along the blade.

Fittings

The square tsuba combines pure copper with sculpted gilded silver. A square guard is a deliberate break from the usual round form, and it is the first note of a design that carries through the whole mount. The saya is lacquered magnolia wood with a two-tone black-and-white sageo, and the tsuka is wrapped in stingray leather for a firm, classic grip. The black-and-white cord and the gold detail give the Chinmoku its quiet authority, the kind of presence that comes from restraint rather than ornament.

Is it battle-ready?

Yes. The Chinmoku is a full-tang folded Damascus blade with a hamon, balanced for genuine tatami cutting as well as display. It sits among our master-tier katana beside the Dentō and the Hinode.
