Cada hoja se inspecciona, se engrasa y se embala con discreción — la caja nunca revela que dentro hay una espada.

Ōkami means wolf — lean, fast, never wasteful — and this tanto is forged in that image. A wolf does not carry more than it needs, and neither does this blade: a compact clay-tempered T10 edge with a real hamon, built to move quickly and bite cleanly.

Forging & Steel

The blade is T10 tool steel, clay-tempered so the edge hardens fast in the quench while the spine stays tough. That differential hardening produces the visible hamon — the wavy temper line born in the quench — and gives the short blade a hard, keen edge that holds. Compact length, full-grown bite. The high-carbon T10 takes a fine edge and keeps it through repeated handling, so the Ōkami stays sharp where a softer decorative blade would quickly dull.

Fittings

The furniture is a copper-and-brass alloy. The tsuba and matching menuki kit are cast in the alloy, the saya is lacquered ebony wood with a bull-horn kurigata, and the tsuka is wrapped in genuine stingray leather and pinned with a bamboo mekugi. The dark ebony scabbard and warm alloy fittings give the little blade a serious, understated look that suits its lean character rather than dressing it up.

Is it battle-ready?

Yes. The clay-tempered T10 blade is hard, sharp and functional — a genuine cutting tanto rather than a wall ornament. The short length makes it fast and precise in the hand, and the hamon makes it a handsome display piece.
